| March 4 | Edgings, including Hanky Edgings Supplies Needed (PDF) Bring a hemstitched cotton or linen handkerchief (you will crochet into the perforations around the edge). Before the meeting, work the first round around the hanky as follows: one single crochet in each hole, with 3 single crochets in the corner. Also bring crochet thread and steel crochet hook of appropriate size. Hemstitched handkerchiefs are sold at Hobby Lobby, Handy Hands (www.hhtatting.com)

| May 6 | Crocheting for charity - bring yarn and hooks. We will chat while we crochet for charity. White Elephant Sale - one person's trash is another's treasure. Bring any crocheted items and crochet books, hooks, etc. that you no longer want. Everyone will have chance to bid, and highest bidder gets the goods. All proceeds will benefit the chapter. |

| Aug. 5 | Warm Up America - Bring your 7-inch by 9-inch squares. We will join
them into afghans for the Warm Up America charity. Chapter Challenge - Theme is "Trees". Entries must be made during current year, and must include some crochet. |

| Aug. 19 | Margaret Hubert Workshop The Northern Illinois chapter of the Crochet Guild of America is presenting a special workshop to be given by Margaret Hubert, a well-known teacher and designer with special expertise in freeform crochet. The workshop, entitled Spectacular Squares, will show participants how to crochet various items (ponchos, shawls, bags, pillows, etc.) out of squares. Freeform crochet can also be incorporated. Join us for a day of crocheting on Sat. Aug. 19 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm in Rolling Meadows. Fee is $30. PREREGISTRATION IS NECESSARY. For more information, contact Rosalie at rlj888@sbcglobal.net |
