Oprah Winfrey Campaign

The Northern Illinois chapter of CGOA, in conjunction with CGOA's Tenth Anniversary Committee, is sending a crocheted fashion scarf each week to Oprah Winfrey to draw her attention to crochet! Included with each scarf is a letter offering to teach Oprah to crochet a scarf to auction off to benefit Oprah's Angel Network. The campaign is going on until we get Oprah's attention or the scarves run out, whichever comes first! In December, we expanded the campaign by sending a scarf to David Letterman, and asking him to help us in getting a response from Oprah.

The campaign started in September 2003 with the mailing of a beautiful filet Oprah, crocheted by national CGOA member Lester Vaughn.
